The Bade Minimum Security Prison, Agency of Corrections, Ministry of Justice, held a face-to-face meeting with family of the Mid-Autumn Festival on September 24^th. As the saying goes, on the happy festival, more than ever we think of our relatives far away. We are glad that the Mid-Autumn Festival is approaching and people reunite while the moon is full. The prison would like to express the sympathies to the inmates’ emotion of missing their relatives, and held a face-to-face meeting with family for inmates on the Mid-Autumn Festival Eve. At the meeting venue, the supervisors promoted the importance of family support. Through this event, it not only connected the family ties and emotional exchanges between inmates and relatives, but also strengthened the power of family cohesion and support.

Our prison has activated a newly-build and intimate parent-child amusement room to provide children with a lovely resting space. The overall atmosphere is pleasant and comfortable, and no longer makes people feel serious and unfriendly. During the event, two brothers, Xiao Ting and Xiao Nuo (pseudonyms), were taken into custody in the prison because of the same case. Their mother took advantage of this event and came to visit them. She thanked the prison for their kindness in organizing the event and expressed to the instructor that she hoped this custody can make the two brothers learn a lesson, reflect and think about their future. She also with them can be upright persons after releasing from prison.

Wen Min-Nan, the director of the rehabilitation and education section, interacted and promoted with the inmates and their families at the event venue. He not only cared about the toil of traveling of families, but also encouraged the inmates to keep good while in prison. He hopes that every inmate can cherish the wonderful moment with their families and return to society as soon as possible.
