Mother's Day Telephone Reunion Event - Warm Greetings and Blissful Company

    It's often said: "A mother's love is unparalleled; a child with a mother is like a treasure." To showcase the greatness of maternal love and alleviate the longing for family among incarcerated individuals, the Bade minimum security Prison organized a Mother's Day telephone reunion event on May 9^th, 2024. The aim was to bring incarcerated individuals, who have strayed into the realm of the law, closer to their families through telephone conversations, bridging the gap between distant hearts, repairing family relationships, fostering stronger familial bonds, and enhancing family support. The goal was to bring hope and light to the lives of these individuals, facilitating their successful reintegration into society and allowing them to shine brightly in the second half of their lives.

    The prison extends its gratitude to Chunghwa Telecom's Taoyuan Operations Division for its philanthropic spirit in providing 10 telephone lines free of charge. These lines allowed incarcerated individuals to exchange warm greetings and care with their families through dedicated lines. The sound of greetings, the connection of calls, and hearing long-awaited and familiar voices, "Hello, Mom!" Tears welled up in their eyes, and the mother's advice solidified the incarcerated individuals' faith in repentance and upward growth. The care from family members catalyzed the transformation and rebirth of the incarcerated individuals, filling the venue with the warmth of familial love.

    One inmate, using the pseudonym Xiao Feng, shared his story: of youthful mistakes, misguided desires, and the price paid with his youth. He expressed regret and acknowledged the limitations of freedom within confinement, unable to be constantly present with loved ones. He expressed deep gratitude and cherished the current moment of happiness, made possible by the joint effort of Chunghwa Telecom and the prison in organizing this event, allowing his homesickness to be conveyed through the hotline, transcending the strict and cold walls of confinement, and reliving the happiness of childhood embraced in his mother's arms.

    The warden, Huang Hongxi, emphasized that family serves as the strong backbone for incarcerated individuals. Through emotional connections and familial nurturing, the switch of love deep within the heart can be turned towards repentance and goodness, paving the way for a hopeful return to society and a journey towards a positive life. A total of 179 inmates participated in the event, which concluded in a warm and touching atmosphere.
