Cherish Emotions Group Intervention(Youth Group Intervention for Ages 20-30)

To adjust and manage the emotions of inmates in the External Operations Prison before and after family visits, as well as the emotional fluctuations and subsequent impulsive behaviors of inmates due to unexpected events during external work, preventive interventions are implemented. These interventions aim to help inmates choose the correct coping methods for each emotional moment, stabilize themselves, practice self-control, and prevent security and violation incidents.

The youth group is experiencing a crucial stage in the development and stability of their physical and psychological, intellectual and emotional aspects. They fluctuate between remaining in adolescence or moving towards maturity. Learning and respecting boundaries and gaining respect must be accumulated through life experiences. How each individual positions themselves, shapes their values, and plans their future life blueprint is a critical stage. Some individuals may act impulsively and regret it later. These behaviors can be prevented through learning or practice.

Therefore, for the youth inmates in this facility, we plan to conduct relevant interventions from aspects such as self-understanding, interpersonal relationships, intimate relationships, work and career planning, leisure life arrangements, stress adjustment, and the meaning of life, to reduce the possibility of escape or not returning after going home.

The group theme is centered on emotions. Most people, when trying to systematically or clearly describe significant events in their lives or events they thought were insignificant but had a significant impact, instinctively engage in self-defense mechanisms, making it difficult for them to face or handle the situation, or even talk about it. By intervening through emotions, which are easily observable from the outside, inmates can lower their guard and defense mechanisms. Thus, the group is named "Cherish Emotions," making emotions a good friend for self-awareness. This approach helps individuals appreciate their emotional fluctuations as reminders of inner discomfort, understand that different emotions are triggered by challenges to their internal values, recognize their true selves through their emotions, learn to care for and love themselves, and construct the lifestyle they desire for the future.
