Bade Minimum Security Prison,Agency of Corrections, Hosts 2025 Lunar New Year Reunion Call Event for Inmates

As the Lunar New Year approaches, the warm atmosphere of reunion makes the inmates at the Bade Minimum Security Prison, Agency of Corrections feel the preciousness of family ties even more deeply. To allow the inmates to send their thoughts and blessings to their families, the prison organized a special telephone reunion event on January 15, building a bridge for emotional connection between the inmates and their loved ones. The prison extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Chunghwa Telecom Taoyuan Operations Division generously provided 10 telephone lines free of charge, allowing the inmates to share their feelings with their families through these warm dedicated lines. With meticulous arrangements by the prison, each participant was able to make a phone call with peace of mind, sharing emotions and expressing concern for their loved ones.

Inmate A-Yu (a pseudonym) expressed his regret and remorse for not being able to accompany his grandmother during her final moments while serving his sentence. Hearing the familiar voices of his family brought him warmth and strengthened his resolve to make a fresh start. Inmate A-Wei (a pseudonym) apologized to his elderly parents and promised to make amends for his past mistakes through actions, rebuilding the bond with his family. Their heartfelt expressions not only touched their own hearts but also conveyed their determination to change and transform, filling their families with warmth and hope.

The prison's warden, Huang Hong-Xi, stated that the core of correctional work is not only to help inmates reform but also to assist them in rebuilding their connections with their families and society. This telephone reunion event, through the voices of care and sincere blessings, bridged the distance between the inmates and their families, allowing love and hope to shine like a guiding light in their hearts. A total of 155 inmates participated in the event, and through these heartfelt conversations, they encouraged each other and looked forward to the day of reunion, hand in hand, welcoming a better tomorrow.
