Baby Group-Family support activity

To help inmates with children under the age of six rebuild parent-child relationships and strengthen their parenting roles, we held the " Baby Group-Family support activity " on June 7. Through a series of interactive parent-child activities, inmates and their young children shared precious moments together, rebuilding emotional connections and preparing for successful reintegration into their families and society.

The “Baby Group-Family support activity” featured a variety of activities specially designed for young children, such as art creation, picture book reading, board game playing, etc., so that interactive sessions allowed children and inmates to engage in relaxed and share aspects of their lives. During the activities, the social worker guided the incarcerated parents to reflect on their parenting roles and provided personalized suggestions tailored to their situations. The aim was to help them develop stronger parenting knowledge and skills, enhance emotional resilience, and foster a positive approach to parenting.

Inmates expressed that being able to spend time with their children—drawing, playing, and laughing together—even while serving their sentences, reminded them of the warmth of family and reinforced their determination to take responsibility as fathers after release. This event clearly illustrates how family support groups can significantly enhance familial bonds, stabilize emotional support systems for incarcerated individuals, and reduce the risk of recidivism caused by family breakdowns.
