To enhance the inmates' family function and interpersonal support system, and improve communication and emotional exchange between parents and children and partners, our prison held a handcraft activity on September 16, 2015, titled "Finding the Warmth of Love in Your Hands: Talking about Parent-Child Relationships and Emotional Connections through Clay Creations." We specially invited social worker Yang Yachun to lead the activity, aiming to enhance the inmates' emotional management, mental health, and stress adaptation abilities through handcraft activities.
The course content explains the sources of stress in life and reminds inmates that they can improve emotional management and relieve stress through exercise, meditation, seeking social support, and cultivating interests. It helps prisoners improve their stress adjustment ability and parent-child communication patterns, thereby achieving the goal of strengthening family function.
