Three-Point Shooting Contest
To assist inmates in cultivating positive leisure interests, establishing regular exercise habits, and enhancing physical fitness, this correctional facility organized a “Three-Point Shooting Contest” educational activity on November 19, 2025. Units across the facility enthusiastically registered, with 40 inmates ultimately selected to compete. The event aimed to foster positive interaction through healthy competition while alleviating stress through physical activity, thereby promoting mental and physical adjustment and facilitating reintegration preparation.
The competition featured a specially designed “90-second timed shooting challenge.” Participants were required to consecutively make 18 shots from the three-point line within the allotted time, rotating through three distinct shooting zones. This format tested not only shooting accuracy and pacing but also demanded composure and stability under pressure, showcasing self-discipline—the core spirit of the event. Many inmates are avid basketball enthusiasts. Before the competition, they actively warmed up on the court and engaged in friendly exchanges, creating a lively atmosphere. As the competition commenced, the tension mounted with each participant's turn on the court, yet they seized every opportunity to shoot. Whenever a crucial shot went in, cheers erupted from the spectator area, showcasing the cohesion and positive energy fostered by healthy competition.
Throughout this thrilling and rewarding contest, participants demonstrated intense focus while adjusting their emotions and rhythm under pressure, tangibly showcasing the results of their daily practice. Through this event, inmates had the opportunity to rediscover the joy of sports. By challenging and surpassing themselves, they gainedaffirmation, boosting their confidence and psychological resilience. This aligns with the core purpose of our facility's ongoing educational initiatives: using sports as a medium to guide inmates toward developing healthy interests, enhancing their physical and mental well-being, and cultivating more positive self-management skills for their future reintegration into society.
Moving forward, the prison will continue planning diverse educational and recreational activities to support inmates throughout their rehabilitation journey. We hope that as they accumulate positive experiences, they will lay a more solid foundation for their successful reintegration into society.
