Chinese Checkers Contest

To promote inmates’ adjustment to institutional life, stabilize their emotional well-being during incarceration, and encourage the development of wholesome leisure activities and a positive, enterprising spirit, this prison held an Inmate Chinese Checkers Competition on December 17, 2025. A total of 15 inmates, representing various units, participated in the competition, creating a harmonious and lively atmosphere.

As the saying goes, Life is like a game of chess; wisdom lies in every advance and retreat. Throughout the competition, the participants remained highly focused and thoughtful. Inmates who are usually lively and energetic displayed a calm, composed, and reflective demeanor at the game board. Each move demonstrated strategic thinking and patience, fully embodying the spirit and intellectual depth of board game competition.

Beyond its competitive nature, the event aimed to foster interpersonal interaction through “making friends through the game,” thereby enhancing mutual communication, cultivating positive relationships, and achieving stress relief and mental adjustment. After several exciting rounds of intense mental challenges, the results were successfully announced, and the event concluded smoothly in an orderly and pleasant atmosphere.

By organizing this Chinese Checkers competition, the prison not only increased inmates’ participation in constructive leisure activities, but also helped cultivate concentration, patience, and self-management skills, all of which contribute positively to institutional stability and inmates’ future reintegration into society.
