The 2026 Mindfulness Stress Reduction course is now open. This course aims to guide participants to become aware of their emotional changes through the practice of "mindfulness" and to practice recognizing the physiological signs of emotions through interaction. Mindfulness emphasizes "being aware of the present moment and accepting oneself." Through systematic practice, it helps participants learn to respond to their environment and interpersonal relationships with a calmer and clearer mind in daily life. From February to April 2026, this prison held eight mindfulness-based group sessions titled "Mindfulness in Daily Life: Living with Clarity and Peace in Everyday Life." Occupational therapist Yeh Li-Chun led the groups, guiding inmates through mindful communication and interactive reflection and discussion. This helped participants transform their meditation experiences into interpersonal understanding and internalize a positive attitude towards life.
The course content was experiential learning, including activities such as meditation, breath awareness, body scanning, mindfulness practice, and interpersonal interaction exercises. Through reflection and discussion, inmates are guided to internalize their training experiences into self-awareness, become aware of their own physical and mental state and emotional changes, strengthen understanding and tolerance in interpersonal interactions, help inmates establish a positive attitude towards life, and lay a psychological foundation for social reintegration.
